Lake Hartwell Sail
& Power Squadron is proud to host the D26 Spring Conference in Greenville 5
& 6 March, 2010. Those of you who
haven’t been in downtown Greenville in awhile will be pleasantly surprised at
how it’s changed.

The Westin Poinsett
Hotel has been selected as the base of
operations. It is an elegant hotel
dating

back to the 1920’s
but with renovated amenities. For more
detailed information and to make reserva-tions, hold down the Control key and
click on this link USPS D26 Spring Conference to go to their
website. This is where conference
registrations, hospitality room, silent auction, spouses/guests High Tea, and
Saturday banquet will take place.
We selected the
Westin Poinsett due to its central location to scenic downtown Greenville
allowing par- ticipants to enjoy the many sights, shops, and res-taurants
within easy walking distance. The
Ameri-can Planning Association’s recent designation of

downtown Greenville
as one of 10 best downtowns in the US suggest that this was a wise decision.

Conference
registration, the hospitality room, and the silent auction will start Friday
afternoon at the Westin Poinsett Hotel.
We have adopted a
“Chinese New Year in March” theme for Friday evening’s social gathering which
will be held at the East China Buffet.
While we socialize and enjoy some excellent Chinese food, scenes from
China’s Yangtze River, Three Gorges Dam
and locks, and other bodies of water will be displaying on flat screen TV’s on
the walls. After dinner, we enjoy some
traditional Chinese dances.
Saturday’s business
meeting will be held at the Lazy Goat Restaurant in the upstairs meeting area
with its excellent view of the Reedy River.
A buffett lunch

will also take
place there. It’s interesting that this
restaurant’s chef was recently named one of the nation’s top 4 chefs in a
November article in Esquire magazine.
To allow
Spouses/Guests to enjoy the downtown Greenville area, no lunch has been
scheduled…we felt it more appropriate to allow them to select their own
location and cuisine. We encourage them
to look for the Mice on Main.

More information
about our mice can be found at:
At the
Spouses/Guests afternoon High Tea in the dining room at the Westin Poinsett a
prize will be

awarded to whomever
found the most mice as well as other door prizes.
The Saturday evening
banquet will be at the Westin Poinsett.

We’re excited to be
hosting this event and are an-xious for you to enjoy the many amenities you
will find in the downtown Greenville area.
So don’t wait, make your reservations now…lookin’ forward to seein’ ya’
in Greenville.
