About the Auxiliary

The purpose of the auxiliary is to assist the Lake Hartwell Sail & Power Squadron in any manner that is consistent with United States Power Squadrons' policy.  The members work under the direction and supervision of the Squadron and always in the best interest of USPS.

Membership is open to all persons meeting the qualifications as established by the Auxiliary without discrimination as to sex, race, religion, or national origin.  Membership is not limited to spouses of Active members of Lake Hartwell Sail & Power Squadron, but is open to Active members as well.  Along with the regular membership, the Auxiliary also has honorary memberships, which shall be anyone who has rendered outstanding service to this organization.

The annual dues for each regular member have been established as $5.00 and shall be due and payable to the auxiliary Treasurer after the annual meeting.  This meeting shall be held in conjunction with the Lake Hartwell Sail & Power Squadron's Election Night.  The meeting shall be devoted to the election of Auxiliary officers, reports of officers and committees, and any other business to be transacted.

In 1998, the Officers devoted much time to increase its membership and by doing so were awarded the First Annual Membership Enhancement Award of 1998. The USPS National Auxiliary Advisory Committee awarded this and the prize was a golden gavel that will be retained by the President for use at all future meetings.

If you have any interest in becoming a member of the auxiliary, please contact any of the officers listed and they will be glad to give you information.
